If you are not following us on FaceBook, please do so. That’s where I reported regularly on Alvin’s progress at the WSOP.
Alvin was one of the very few PlayNation Players who made it through the first full day. If there had been the usual 2200 registrations, he would have been in the money. BUT, there were 2,650 registrations, so it was much more challenging.
Even at that, Alvin played very well and was beaten by luck.
With pocket Jacks, the flop presented no obvious danger, so he made a substantial bet and was then put all in be someone with a large stack who was betting heavily on everything. When the other player turned over 2 small hearts, it still looked good, with only 1 heart in the flop. The turn produced another heart and the fifth heart on the river was the end of Alvin’s day.
He played his cards well, but luck will prevail far too often.
Congratulations on a great effort, Alvin!!
